Job Summary
The Communications Specialist will champion the voice of WPC, bridging the gap between our life-affirming services and the community. This role balances creative graphic design (Canva) with technical ad management to effectively reach both clients in need and the donors who support them.
Core Qualifications & Requirements

- Discretion: Strict adherence to donor confidentiality and client privacy policies.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications OR 2+ years of proven experience running paid ad campaigns.
- Ad Analytics: Proven ability to manage ad budgets, launch campaigns (Meta and Google Ads), and interpret data analytics to pivot strategies.
- Design & Tech: Proficient in Canva, WordPress/Webflow, and Constant Contact.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills to self-manage overlapping deadlines (e.g., monthly newsletters vs. unexpected ad opportunities).
Expanded Task List
Donor Newsletters (Monthly)
- Write, design, and segment distinct copy for digital (email) and physical mail versions.
- Converse with departmental team members monthly to gather impact stories and updates.
- Clean and manage mailing lists in our database, including updating address changes.
- Liaise directly with print shops and mail houses to ensure timely delivery and budget compliance.
Social Media & Community Engagement (Weekly)
- Plan, create, and schedule a consistent weekly content calendar.
- Write compelling captions and design visual assets tailored to clients and donors.
- Serve comfortably as an on-screen brand ambassador for short-form video content (Reels).
- Monitor, flag, and respond to incoming direct messages and comments daily.
Promotional Material & Event Marketing (As Needed)
- Bring event marketing in-house by designing all signage, programs, and digital assets for major campaigns.
- Proactively research new regional ad placements (e.g., student guides, local business bulletin boards).
- Audit and refresh physical clinic marketing collateral (rack cards, brochures, tabling banners).
Digital Footprint & Web Management (Monthly)
- Update and maintain the clinic website for accuracy, SEO, and user experience.
- Manage the Google Business Profile, updating holiday hours and professionally monitoring reviews.
- Set up, monitor, and optimize Google Ads (specifically utilizing the Google Ad Grant for nonprofits if applicable).
