Monday – Friday, one or two evenings possible but no holidays or weekends.
Medical Assistant Expectations:
- Assist the physician and/or medical providers during exams and office procedures, ensuring the comfort and care of patients.
- Involved in direct patient care and responsible for tasks including, but not limited to, obtaining medical history, vital signs, rooming patients, collection of specimens for laboratory testing, performing injections and phlebotomy services, etc.
- Scheduling patient appointments, diagnostic tests, coordinating referrals to specialists, obtaining prior authorizations, signed orders, and triaging patient messages and calls.
- Exam room and laboratory stocking, cleaning, and set-up.
- Contact and counsel patients regarding test results under the guidance of the provider.
- Maintenance of laboratory and medication logs.
- Sterilize medical instruments.
- Fill in on front office duties, such as patient scheduling, checking in and out, verifying patient insurance information, and assisting with patient forms.
- Return voicemail messages.
- Clerical duties such as tending to faxes, printing/scanning and copying/filing.
- Assist with various administrative tasks when needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of a medical assistant training program or relevant certification is required. In leu of medical assistance program, 3 years' experience in an office setting will be considered. Phlebotomy skills required.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff members.
Must uphold the highest standards of legal, ethical, and professional conduct.
Must understand and support the unique mission and vision of Veranova Health.
Must be available Monday – Friday.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 – 40.0 per week
