Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Land Survey Technician to join our dynamic surveying team. In this role, you will assist in collecting precise land data, operating advanced surveying equipment, and supporting the creation of accurate land maps and schematics. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the integrity of land development projects, infrastructure planning, and construction initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop technical skills while working outdoors and in office environments, contributing to impactful projects that shape communities.
Responsibilities
- Field Data Collection: Perform field surveys, including topographical, boundary, and construction staking projects.
- Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain survey instruments including GPS, Robotic Total Station, Levels, etc.
- Site Preparation: Clear brush and debris from survey lines, set iron rods, wooden stakes, and other monumentation.
- Data Management: Record accurate field notes, sketches, and digital data, transferring this information to the office for processing.
- Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and, when necessary, assist in organizing and cleaning field equipment and vehicles.
- Office Support: Assist in data reduction and preparation of basic CAD drawings or GIS mapping as needed.
- Municipal Construction: Assist with construction observation on municipal projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of related survey experience preferred.
- Experience working with robotic and GPS field survey equipment.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Surveyor License in Wisconsin preferred but not required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Drone pilot license a plus.
