Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough smog tests on a wide range of vehicles to ensure compliance with local emissions standards
- Diagnose vehicle issues related to emissions systems using diagnostic tools and mechanical knowledge
- Perform repairs on emissions-related components, including sensors, catalytic converters, and exhaust systems, utilizing hand tools and power tools
- Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and minor auto repairs to support overall vehicle health
- Use automotive repair techniques to restore vehicles to optimal condition, including auto body repair when necessary
- Lift heavy parts or components safely during repairs, adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting
- Maintain accurate records of all tests performed, repairs completed, and parts used for each vehicle
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair or auto service environments
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures and auto restoration techniques
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
- Strong understanding of automotive systems, especially emissions control components
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repair procedures
- Prior mechanic experience or auto body repair background is highly desirable
