Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining accurate financial records using accounting software like Quickbooks
- Support general ledger accounting activities including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation
- Help perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data accuracy
- Contribute to accounts payable and accounts receivable processes by verifying invoices and processing payments
- Aid in preparing financial reports, including budget reports and financial statement drafts aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Participate in payroll processing and tax-related documentation to ensure compliance with governmental regulations
- Support month-end closing activities through data entry, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program related to accounting, finance, or a similar field
- Basic understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and journal entries
- Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms is highly preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills; proficiency in 10 key typing is advantageous
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation accurately
- Effective communication skills and a proactive attitude toward learning new skills
