Nursing Assistant Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Provide basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Assist with mobility and transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support patients with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in training programs to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in critical care, long-term care, assisted living, or nursing home settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques and aseptic techniques is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in hospice care is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of medical documentation practices and HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy tasks if required by the facility.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and their families.
- A commitment to providing high-quality patient service in various healthcare environments including acute care, outpatient clinics, urgent care, and pediatrics.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
