Quality Control Technician

Altius is a manufacturing and supply chain company built for industrial customers who care about execution. We source, manufacture, and deliver engineered fasteners, fabricated components, machined parts, and Class C supply programs for OEMs across HVAC, automotive, elevator, and industrial markets. Our operations include U.S.-based manufacturing, global sourcing, VMI, kitting, and 3PL services — all focused on reliability, speed, and cost control. We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to support day-to-day quality functions working closely with operators and management.
Position Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying products and components throughout receiving and production to ensure compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements. This position plays a key role in maintaining product quality by conducting inspections, performing measurements, documenting results, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to maintaining high quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Perform inspections and testing of products, components, and assemblies at various stages of production.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify product conformance.
- Record inspection and test results accurately and maintain quality documentation as required.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing quality data to identify trends and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Support continuous improvement efforts through participation in problem-solving activities and quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and management teams to address quality concerns and improve processes.
- Maintain compliance with company quality procedures, customer requirements, and applicable ISO standards.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training, vocational education, or manufacturing quality experience preferred.
- Experience in quality inspection, electrical testing, manufacturing, or a related field is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to navigate electronic systems and access information through internet-based applications.

Work Environment
This position is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment and may require exposure to machinery, electrical equipment, noise, and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
