American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in Maine, requiring a Maine or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Emergency Department (ED) nursing position in a hospital setting

Night shift schedule: 7p-7a

13-week contract

Active Maine or compact RN license required
-
BSN preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of ED nursing experience required

Current, unexpired BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Ability to problem solve with strong critical thinking skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills
-
Nursing assessment skills across all age groups required
-
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, reach, and lift up to 30 lbs

Must have visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assess patients
-
DOB and SSN required for consideration

Performs initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments, develops and implements individualized plans of care, and executes nursing interventions to meet patient goals

Administers medications using the five rights protocol via med verify and evaluates patient response
-
Documents patient care activities per established hospital standards and policies
-
Provides patient and family education and completes discharge planning, including follow-up calls post-discharge

Participates in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and bedside rounding with hospitalists and case managers
-
Actively participates in hospital-wide Quality Improvement programs and supports department-specific initiatives

Expected to participate in emergency and disaster preparedness planning and drills, and to respond within professional and personal capacity during real-life events

Traveler reports to Human Resources on Day 1 for onboarding

Required immunizations: Varicella (2 doses or titer), Hep B (3 doses, titer, or signed declination), MMR (2 doses or titer), Tdap, and 2-step PPD or titer within the past 12 months; flu shot required during flu season
