Summary
Penn's Grove Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our middle school softball program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the game, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. This position requires a focus on player development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, as well as the ability to engage and inspire young athletes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement practice plans that enhance player skills and promote teamwork.
- Organize and conduct team practices, games, and tournaments.
- Teach fundamental softball techniques and strategies to players of varying skill levels.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, hard work, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
- Coordinate with other coaches and school staff to ensure a cohesive athletic program.
- Manage team logistics, including scheduling games, transportation, and equipment needs.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and regulations regarding athletics.
- Promote the importance of academic achievement and encourage players to maintain good grades.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level.
- In-depth knowledge of softball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive team environment.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained within a specified time frame.
- A background check will be required prior to employment.
- Availability to attend practices and games after school hours and on weekends.
