Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Direct Care Staff to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents in a supportive living environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about assisting others and making a positive impact on their lives. The position involves working closely with individuals who may have developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home and community care is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidates. This is a paid position committed to fostering a respectful and caring atmosphere.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document accordingly using EMR systems
- Monitor vital signs and observe residents for any changes in health status
- Provide personal care and support during meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care strategies
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe transfers
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas to ensure a safe environment
- Document care provided accurately and report any concerns to supervisory staff
- Drive residents to appointments or activities when required, adhering to safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma / GED
- Acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license and access to an automobile that can be used to transport individuals
- Acceptable CORI, DPPC record request, and background fingerprinting check required
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is helpful.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
- A compassionate attitude toward providing care and support to individuals in need.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining client records and documentation.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
