Holiday Inn Express & Suites is seeking a dependable, experienced, and hands-on Chief Engineer to oversee all maintenance and engineering operations for our hotel. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the property is safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently while delivering an exceptional experience for every guest.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to preventative maintenance and operational excellence.

Oversee all daily engineering and maintenance operations for the hotel.

Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for guest rooms, public areas, mechanical equipment, and building systems.

Perform and supervise repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, appliances, and general building maintenance.

Lead, train, schedule, and support the maintenance team while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.

Conduct routine property inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure brand standards are maintained.

Coordinate and oversee outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and capital improvement projects.

Manage department budgets, inventory, purchasing, and expense controls.

Maintain compliance with all IHG brand standards, OSHA requirements, fire and life safety regulations, and local building codes.

Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, equipment records, and required inspections.

Partner with hotel leadership to ensure the property consistently delivers a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

Minimum of 3 years of hotel engineering, facilities management, or commercial building maintenance experience.

Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and preventative maintenance.

Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of building and equipment issues.

Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Basic computer proficiency and experience with maintenance management systems is a plus.

Valid driver's license required.
