Job Overview
Diamonds & Pearls is seeking a dedicated and experienced Group Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of an unlicensed residential setting funded through Ohio Medicaid Waiver services. The Group Home Manager is responsible for ensuring quality care, regulatory compliance, and effective service delivery while promoting person-centered support and community integration for individuals served.
This role includes supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), implementing Individual Service Plans (ISPs), maintaining health and safety standards, and ensuring compliance with all applicable Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) regulations.
Key Responsibilities Administrative & Compliance
- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) 5123 rules, Medicaid Waiver requirements, and Diamonds & Pearls policies and procedures.
- Monitor documentation for accuracy and timeliness, including:
- Daily logs
- Medication Administration Records (MARs)
- Incident reports
- Financial ledgers
- Oversee Medicaid billing documentation in accordance with DODD standards.
- Participate in internal audits, compliance reviews, and quality assurance assessments conducted by Diamonds & Pearls or regulatory agencies.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive living environment for individuals served.
Staff Supervision & Training
- Train, supervise, and evaluate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) assigned to the home.
- Ensure staff complete all required initial and annual training in compliance with OAC 5123-2-08 and company policies, including:
- MUI/UI reporting
- Individual rights
- Empathy-based care
- Delegated nursing (if applicable)
- Assist with creating and managing staff schedules to ensure proper staffing ratios and supervision requirements are met.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and corrective action as needed to support staff performance and accountability.
Individual Support & Care Coordination
- Ensure implementation of each individual’s ISP, person-centered goals, and behavior support strategies when applicable.
- Monitor and advocate for individuals’ medical, behavioral, emotional, and nutritional needs.
- Attend ISP meetings and interdisciplinary team conferences as a representative of Diamonds & Pearls.
- Coordinate and support individuals during medical appointments, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of DODD experience required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Current DODD Medication Certification required
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
