Job Title: Hardwood Floor Installer
Full Time: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm
Pay: $25.00-$30.00/hr DOE
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Hardwood Floor Installer to join our team. This role involves installation, sanding, finishing, and preparation of hardwood flooring in residential and/or commercial settings. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced with flooring tools and materials, and committed to delivering high-quality craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Installation
-
Install hardwood flooring including solid, engineered, and laminate products

Measure, cut, and fit wood materials to specified dimensions

Install subflooring, underlayment, and moisture barriers as required

Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and secure installation
Sanding & Finishing
-
Sand new and existing hardwood floors using professional sanding equipment

Repair surface imperfections, scratches, and uneven areas
-
Apply stains, sealers, and finishes (urethane, oil-based, water-based)
-
Buff and polish floors to achieve a high-quality finish
-
Ensure proper drying times and finish consistency
Preparation Work
-
Prepare job sites by removing old flooring, nails, adhesives, and debris
-
Inspect subfloors and make repairs or adjustments as needed
-
Clean and level surfaces prior to installation
-
Protect surrounding areas from dust and damage during work
Maintenance & Safety
-
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
-
Follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
-
Use dust containment systems and protective gear properly
-
Keep work areas clean and organized
Qualifications
-
Proven experience as a hardwood floor installer or similar role
-
Knowledge of sanding, staining, and finishing techniques

Ability to operate flooring tools and sanding equipment
-
Understanding of wood types, grains, and installation methods
-
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly

Kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods
-
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
-
Ability to work in dusty environments and varying conditions
Preferred Skills

Experience with custom flooring patterns (herringbone, parquet, etc.)

Familiarity with moisture testing and acclimation processes

Ability to read blueprints or work orders

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
