Acquisitions Specialist & Warehouse Manager
About The Church Mouse and Bethesda by-the-Sea:
Bethesda is a large and thriving Episcopal parish located on a beautiful campus in Palm Beach, Florida. The Church Mouse, a well-known upscale resale (thrift) shop, is a long-standing outreach ministry of the Church.
Primary Focus:
This full-time position is responsible for delivery and pickups of donated furniture items, inventory management, and customer service for the Church Mouse warehouse/storage unit and retail store
Reports to:
Church Mouse Manager
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and receive donated goods
- Build ongoing donor relationships
- Manage inventory intake and categorization
- Coordinate, schedule, and participate in deliveries and pickups of donated items
- Track and manage storage flow and organization for store and warehouse
- Coordinate movement of goods from intake to floor or warehouse
- Maintain organization of storage and processing areas
- Oversee back-of-house inventory systems
- Support merchandising and floor restocking
- Assist with general floor upkeep (hanging, straightening, cleaning)
Qualifications:
- Commitment to stewardship, transparency, and ethical handling of donations (aligned with Episcopal business practices and internal controls guidance)
- Experience in nonprofit, ministry, or volunteer driven environments
- Familiarity with scheduling tools and databases, outlook office, etc.
- Knowledge of logistics processes and warehouse/storeroom safety standards
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- A valid driver's license and “clean” driving record and ability to operate delivery trucks or vans
- Ability to lift and move furniture (often over 40 pounds)
- Demonstrates skills in problem-solving, flexibility, and adaptability
- Strong interpersonal and relational skills, service orientated, comfortable working with a wide range of people including staff and volunteers from the parish
- Reputation of a Christ-like attitude towards colleagues, parishioners, vendors, and members of the community
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics/supply chain preferred
Compensation:
- Commensurate with experience. Health benefits are included
