POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Advising Reservoir Engineer will serve as the in-house subject matter expert in dynamic reservoir simulation. The role carries primary responsibility for model construction, history matching, uncertainty analysis, and forecast generation using Echelon, with strong supporting competency across the full reservoir engineering toolkit. The successful candidate will work in a lean, multidisciplinary environment and must be equally comfortable building simulation models and interpreting surveillance data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Perform computer simulations of oil and gas reservoirs to aid in reservoir management including analytical, black oil and compositional models.
-
Reach solid conclusions and recommend projects consistent with best engineering practices and company strategy. Communicate recommendations clearly and garner support for projects.
-
Own the full simulation workflow: geomodel upscaling, dynamic model initialization, history matching, sensitivity studies, and probabilistic forecast generation (P10/P50/P90)
-
Collaborate with geomodelers to review static models and translate them into fit-for-purpose simulation grids; provide technical feedback on property distributions, fault transmissibility, and grid resolution
-
Perform material balance analysis, decline curve analysis, and production data QC to inform, constrain, and validate simulation inputs
-
Generate production forecasts in support of reserves reporting, FDP submissions, AFE evaluation, and development planning
-
Support well planning, infill drilling evaluations, IOR/EOR screening, and facilities capacity studies
-
Prepare and present technical results to management and, where applicable, partner or regulatory audiences
-
Mentor junior engineers and maintain internal standards for simulation model construction and documentation
-
Additional tasks as assigned by business/management.

-
BSc/MSc in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent with +15 years of reservoir engineering experience
-
7+ years of experience in reservoir modelling/simulation using Eclipse, Echelon, or similar tools
-
Proficient in RE software (Echelon- Eclipse) and workflows (PVT, SCAL, reserves, decline/nodal analysis, forecasting, optimization)
-
Solid understanding of related disciplines (geology, geophysics, drilling, facilities, economics)
-
Strong collaborator in multidisciplinary teams
-
Clear communicator with constructive challenge skills
-
Self-motivated, organized, and decisive under pressure
-
Committed to ethics, quality, and HSSE standards
