Project Manager : Custom lighting Manufacturer
HB Lighting, a renowned custom decorative lighting manufacturer, seeks a professional and self-motivated Project Manager to oversee all phases of project life cycles.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys interacting with clients and helping transform conceptual designs into manufacturable products.
The ideal candidate is engaging, dependable, and detail-oriented, with at least 3 years of work experience, including 1 year working with three-to-five-star properties in the hospitality sector (FF&E). Any additional experience in high-end residential or commercial lighting is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster personable, long-term relationships with our reps and customers, including purchasing agents, interior designers, architects, contractors, and property owners.
- Review design specifications and purchase orders upon receipt, promptly enter Sales Orders, and request payments.
- Select cost-effective materials that align with designers’ expectations and coordinate with our Engineering and Production departments.
- Establish and meet target dates; streamline and expedite approval times for shop drawings and materials by proactively following up with customers and communicating customer requests with our team.
- Prioritize projects and manage project milestones to ensure on-time and within-budget product deliverables.
- Work closely with the shipping department to coordinate logistics and documents for both domestic and overseas shipments.
- Work with the Accounting team on invoicing and project close-out.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Exceptional time-management skills.
- Proficiency in prioritizing workloads and managing multiple projects simultaneously, including unexpected tasks.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members in the factory and office, including upper management.
- Customer Service driven and comfortable engaging with top-tier customers via email correspondences, phone calls, and in-person meetings.
- Pro-active team player willing to help when needed.
- Comfortable working closely with and taking guidance from upper management and team mentor.
- Anticipate client needs and offer practical solutions.
- Adaptability to new processes and computer software/programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign is a plus.
- Comfortable working in an open office environment and factory setting.
- A keen eye for aesthetics and a strong attention to design detail.
- Able to attend the BDNY tradeshow for two days in November (Sunday/Monday) as a company representative.
- Occasional light to moderate lifting.
- Must be able to commute to our Bronx, New York location.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- A graduate of an accredited Interior Design program and NCIDQ certified (or capable of completing certification within the next 12 months) or related experience.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience, including 1 year in the project team FF&E Specifier role.
- Candidates with specific experience in the hospitality industry will receive substantial consideration.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
