Full Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- The Lab Assistant- Float supports clinical laboratory operations across hospital and outpatient clinic locations, including Medical Associates of BCHC, BCHC Family Medicine-Jesup, and BCHC Family Medicine-Oelwein. This role performs routine, non-technical duties such as specimen collection, processing, and handling, while ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of high school or equivalent required with courses in biology or anatomy preferred.
  
  American Heart Association Basic Life Support required.
  
  In addition to meeting the educational and/or license requirement(s) associated with this position, must be able to provide documentation (copy of transcript or diploma) to verify completion of education. At a minimum, documentation provided must be for High School or GED equivalency, but more advanced diplomas are also accepted for other levels of education completed.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Acute care or clinical laboratory experience is preferred, but not required.
  
  Familiarity with medical terminology and basic laboratory processes is preferred.
  
  Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred, but not required.
  
  Strong clerical, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to work independently are preferred.
  
  Demonstrates a positive attitude with self-confidence, motivation, and a commitment to achieving individual and organizational goals.
  
  Salary Range: $18.00-$25.20

Schedule: Part Time, Day Shift, 8:00am-5:00pm 3 Days/Week, Flex Shifts *More hours available*
