Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble baked goods, pastries, and desserts with attention to detail and presentation
- Decorate cakes and confections using various techniques to meet customer specifications and aesthetic standards
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen
- Assist in food production processes, including portioning, packaging, and storing ingredients and finished products
- Support high-volume production needs while maintaining consistency in quality and flavor
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely delivery of orders
- Maintain accurate records of food safety practices, ingredient inventory, and production logs
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, baking, or pastry arts within a commercial setting such as a bakery or restaurant
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen tools and equipment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling baked goods and perishable ingredients
- Experience with cake decorating techniques including piping, fondant work, and artistic design
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills for interacting with clients or team members as needed
- Culinary experience that demonstrates versatility across different food industry roles such as catering or restaurant service
