Hunter Business School is seeking a detail-oriented, part-time Nursing Lab Assistant to support our Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program. You will collaborate with nursing instructors to prepare, maintain, and manage the skills lab environment during scheduled class days. Your work will directly help students master essential clinical skills in a safe, organized, and realistic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lab Preparation: Set up clinical simulation equipment, mannequins, and medical supplies before the morning lab sessions.
- Inventory Control: Track inventory levels, restock shelves, and safely dispose of hazardous waste materials.
- Student Support: Assist instructors during Monday and Wednesday labs by monitoring student practice and reinforcing proper clinical techniques.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, sanitize, and troubleshoot lab equipment, simulators, and medical tools to ensure safety.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain lab attendance logs, student skills checklists, and equipment usage records.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current LPN license is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical healthcare setting or an academic nursing lab.
- Skills: Strong organization skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and basic computer proficiency.
Schedule
- Days: Mondays and Wednesdays
- Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
