Prep Cook Job Description:
General Nature of Work:
Cook Helpers assist by preparing salads, cutting pastries, setting up and serving on the deli bar and hot lines, and replenishing items on the cold bars/outside line areas and perform all/other duties assigned by management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing meals using established recipe cards ensuring all tasks are complete in accordance with SOPs. Must be able to use standardized measuring cups/spoons, knives, forks, large kitchen utensils, pots, and pans. Operate basic kitchen equipment, stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, etc.
Procures daily storage from storeroom or refrigerator as requested and prepare cold cut sandwiches.
Serves customers under the direction of the Manager for correct portions and menu combinations.
Additional responsibilities may include preparation of sandwiches, salads, desserts, slicing pies and cakes.
Assist in setting up serving lines and salad bars.
Clean and sanitize condiment bins before replenishing after each meal.
Assures juice machine is cleaned/sanitized and replenished as required.
Knowledge of the salad bar, outside line area, and deli bar standards.
Serves customers at the direction of the manager for correct portions and menu combination.
Maintains sanitation standards by ‘Clean as You Go' method.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Stands and moves within the kitchen area for 6 to 7 hours (Excluding break and lunch periods)
Ability to bend and stoop for job duties.
