Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and ensure accuracy in all reporting activities.
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining precise records.
- Utilize advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, or UltiPro to record, process, and analyze financial data efficiently.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliation and double-entry bookkeeping to verify the accuracy of financial records.
- Support payroll management activities using systems like ADP or Paychex; ensure proper processing of payroll and benefits administration.
- Assist with internal controls compliance, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements, and participate in audits as needed.
- Perform data entry with high precision using 10-key typing skills; analyze financial concepts for reporting and decision-making purposes.
- Collaborate with human resources teams on benefits administration and non-profit accounting projects when applicable.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all journal entries, adjustments, and audit trails to support transparency and accountability.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role within corporate or public accounting environments.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP standards, governmental accounting practices (if applicable), and non-profit accounting principles.
- Demonstrated proficiency with multiple financial software platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, Ceridian, Kronos, UltiPro or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex along with benefits administration processes.
- Experience handling complex account reconciliation tasks and general ledger accounting with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal controls testing is highly desirable.
- Excellent analysis skills for interpreting financial data accurately and providing actionable insights.
- Ability to perform high-volume data entry efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
