Join our dynamic educational team as an ACT and SAT Tutor, where you will empower 1 high school student to excel in their college entrance exams through engaging, personalized instruction. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive ACT and SAT test preparation tutoring to high school students, focusing on test-taking strategies, time management, and content mastery.
- Develop customized lesson plans that align with students’ individual learning needs and goals, incorporating curriculum development and educational technology integration.
- Utilize online tutoring platforms and learning technology to create interactive lessons that enhance engagement and understanding.
- Provide clear guidance on test structure, question types, and scoring methods for both ACT and SAT exams.
- Assess student progress regularly through practice tests and feedback sessions, adjusting instruction accordingly to maximize performance improvements.
- Support students in building essential skills in English, Math, Writing, and Test-taking strategies while fostering motivation and confidence.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, session notes, and curriculum adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with high schoolers in a tutoring or teaching capacity, especially in test preparation courses for ACT and SAT exams.
- Strong knowledge of the ACT and SAT formats, content areas including Math, English, Writing, and Test-taking skills tutoring.
- Experience with online tutoring platforms and educational technology tools to facilitate remote instruction effectively.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and engagingly.
- Background in classroom management, lesson planning, and curriculum development tailored for teenagers.
- Prior private tutoring experience or experience working with students with diverse learning needs is highly desirable.
- High school teaching experience or experience in adult education can be an asset but is not required.
