Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing outstanding customer service with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor
- Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate insurance verification and documentation review
- Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries promptly and direct calls appropriately
- Maintain accurate medical records by updating EHR systems.
- Assist with medical billing processes, including collection of payments.
- Support administrative functions such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing patient intake forms
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and coordinate patient flow within the clinic environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clerical skills
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
- Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior clinic or dermatology office experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
