Job Overview
A Children’s Musical Theatre Group in Waltham is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Musical Theatre Teacher & Director to lead and inspire young performers ages 6–14.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in musical theatre performance and production, who is passionate about helping children build confidence, creativity, and stage presence in a fun and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach musical theatre to students ages 6–14
- Direct and rehearse musical theatre productions
- Lead students in acting, stage performance, and ensemble work
- Help students develop confidence, expression, and performance skills
- Create an engaging, encouraging, and age-appropriate learning environment
- Collaborate on show preparation and performance readiness
Qualifications
- Strong background in musical theatre
- Experience rehearsing and performing in musical productions
- Experience working with children and young performers
- Ability to inspire, engage, and motivate students
- Strong communication, leadership, and classroom management skills
- Directing and/or teaching experience preferred
Compensation
- $60–$80 per hour, based on experience
