Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining various CNC machines to produce precision components. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality production standards, efficient workflow, and adherence to safety protocols within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Duties
- Set up CNC machines such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC machining centers according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications.
- Program CNC equipment utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and G-code, ensuring precise operation aligned with engineering drawings.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical documentation to ensure accurate machining processes.
- Operate auxiliary equipment including Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), press brake machines, stamping presses, and fabrication tools.
- Conduct routine inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform regular maintenance on CNC machinery to optimize performance and prevent downtime; troubleshoot mechanical or electronic issues as they arise.
- Handle materials safely using forklift operations and materials handling techniques; assist in packaging finished products for shipment.
- Support assembly line activities by fabricating parts, performing welding tasks when necessary, and ensuring proper tooling setup.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production processes, machine settings, and quality checks for compliance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on CNC programming adjustments or modifications using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar machinery within a manufacturing or factory setting.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls, CAM programming, CAD software (SolidWorks), and blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with machining processes including fabrication, tooling setup, stamping press operation, and welding is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to factory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting electronic or mechanical issues.
- Hands-on experience with quality control instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while adhering to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with materials handling procedures is advantageous.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations relevant to machining tasks.
