Manufacturing Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Manufacturing Machine Operator to join our production team. This role is focused on the daily operation of manufacturing equipment to support safe, efficient, and consistent production. The Machine Operator is responsible for running assigned machinery, performing setups and adjustments as required, monitoring product quality, and following established operating procedures. This position plays a critical role in meeting production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
This role is structured to support multiple skill levels (Operator I, II, and III), with responsibilities and expectations increasing based on experience and demonstrated capability. We are looking in this first phase for our Operator II/III, which will require a high level of proficiency in complex machinery and production environments. Basic descriptions for these roles and the separation between OP I/II are defined below.
Machine Operator – Level 2
Experienced / Independent Operator
- Independently sets up and operates assigned machines for production runs
- Makes routine operational adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
- Monitors tolerances, production flow, and part consistency
- Identifies process deviations and escalates issues appropriately
- Completes production and quality documentation with minimal oversight
- Contributes to continuous improvement and process consistency
- Basic mechanical knowledge and experience for low level maintenance and troubleshooting activity. Able to proficiently use HMIs to identify equipment malfunction
- Typically has 1-3 years of experience operating complex equipment
Machine Operator – Level 3
Advanced / Lead Operator
- Operates complex or multiple machines with a high level of proficiency
- Performs advanced setups, changeovers, and process verification
- Optimizes machine operation to improve efficiency, throughput, and quality
- Serves as a technical resource for lower‑level operators
- Proactively identifies improvement opportunities and recurring production issues
- Works closely with leadership, engineering, and maintenance to support production performance
- Intermediate mechanical knowledge and experience in using simple tools for maintenance and troubleshooting activity. Can execute low to mid-level Preventive maintenance items with engineering oversight, such as belt tensioning, fastener torquing, and HMI equipment diagnostics
- Typically has 5+ years of experience operating complex equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor manufacturing machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Load materials, start production cycles, and monitor machine performance during runs
- Perform machine setups and changeovers based on production requirements and assigned skill level
- Monitor product quality and identify defects or inconsistencies during production
- Accurately complete production logs, quality checks, and required documentation
- Identify abnormal machine operation or process issues and escalate to supervisors or maintenance as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and 5S standards
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and support departments to meet production goals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred (level‑dependent)
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, routings, and production schedules
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic mechanical aptitude appropriate to operator role
- Willingness to learn and develop additional skills
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and develop advanced technical skills

- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, bending, and reaching as needed
Work Environment

Preferred Skills (Optional)
- Experience with automation or CNC machinery
- ERP Experience for Manufacturing (SAP, Dear Systems/Cin7, Other)
- Familiarity with ISO9001/GMP Manufacturing Environments
- Forklift Certification / Operating Experience
- Experience utilizing digital system controls and machine control systems.
- Familiarity with basic troubleshooting tools and diagnostic systems
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
- Basic computer skills for machine interfaces or production tracking systems
