Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support residents with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts or gait belts to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, observations, and updates in compliance with healthcare standards
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive environment that promotes dignity and respect
Skills
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other memory-related conditions
- Strong understanding of care plans
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and family members
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid; experience with hospice or palliative care is a plus
