Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plastics Vacuum Forming Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Duties
- Set up and operate vacuum forming machines, ensuring proper calibration and safety protocols are followed
- Load raw plastics materials into the machine, monitor the forming process, and make adjustments as needed for optimal results
- Perform quality inspections on finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including materials handling and waste disposal
- Troubleshoot machine issues promptly, performing minor repairs or notifying maintenance for complex problems
- Assist with material preparation
- Document production data accurately, including cycle times, defect reports, and machine maintenance logs
Skills
- Familiarity with plastics manufacturing processes including vacuum forming is a plus
- Ability to operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automated machine controls
- Experience with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; warehouse experience is a plus
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and reduce waste
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments
- Understanding of quality inspection standards to ensure product consistency and compliance with specifications
