Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Assist in menu planning, ensuring that meals are nutritious, appealing, and cater to dietary restrictions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to ensure that all meal preparations meet specific nutritional needs.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other culinary tools.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Participate in catering events as required, ensuring timely preparation and presentation of food items.
- Support other kitchen staff as needed, fostering a positive team environment.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or food service setting.
- Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and culinary skills.
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities and menu planning for various dietary needs is preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency with kitchen equipment are essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
