Job Summary:
The Mobility Technician provides supportive patient care services focused on safety, comfort, and daily needs while assisting licensed clinicians with treatment and mobility activities. Maintains a clean, well-prepared environment and ensures equipment and supplies are available and properly maintained. Promotes effective communication, compassionate care, and adherence to safety and quality standards throughout the patient experience.
1. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
2. Recognizes the normal signs (growth and development of aging) of the patient population indicated above and understands the requirements of assessment, treatment, and care of the specific age group(s).
3. Maintains cleanliness and hygiene of patients, patient environments, and unit areas.
4. Supports medication safety by understanding proper storage and handling procedures.
5. Promotes a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for patients, families, and visitors.
6. Assists with nutritional and hydration needs, including feeding and providing fluids or snacks.
7. Collects, records, and communicates patient data to the interdisciplinary care team.
8. Applies appropriate health and safety practices to protect patients, staff, and self.
9. Demonstrates compassion, respect, and professionalism in interactions with all patients and visitors.
10. Assists clinicians with patient care and treatment under the supervision of licensed personnel.
11. Prepares patient rooms and ensures necessary supplies and equipment are available prior to care.
12. Cleans and maintains shared equipment (e.g., walkers, gait belts) in accordance with policy.
13. Supports patient mobility by assisting with transfers, gait activities, and readiness assessments.
14. Assists with fitting assistive devices/braces and provides basic patient/family education as needed.
15. Participates in discharge preparation processes following established workflows.
16. Performs general transport/courier duties, contributes to problem-solving initiatives, and supports continuous professional development.
17. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Successful completion of a nursing assistant program or 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting.
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association; Proof of Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Tech training from a professional accredited training program.
