We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team for a FULL TIME position. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of high-quality meals, ensuring that all food handling and safety standards are met. This role is essential in supporting our kitchen operations, particularly within the Dietary department. If you have a passion for food service and culinary arts, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management.
- Participate in training sessions on food handling techniques and safety procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role within a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, food handling practices, and dietary requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- A passion for cooking and a desire to learn more about menu planning and culinary arts.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
