Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant/Cashier to provide excellent customer service at our retail location. The ideal candidate will handle transactions efficiently, maintain the cleanliness of the station, and assist customers with their needs. Bilingual skills and previous retail or cashier experience are a plus. This role offers an opportunity to develop sales and merchandising skills while ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems accurately to process sales and payments
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with accuracy and integrity
- Upsell products and promote store specials to increase sales
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store is clean and inviting
- Conduct product demos when applicable to enhance customer engagement
- Maintain proper phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking and merchandising displays
- Supervise and assist new team members as needed, fostering a collaborative environment
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times within the store
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or convenience stores
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are highly desirable
- Basic math skills for handling cash and performing retail math calculations
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Supervising experience is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and product demos is beneficial
