JOB VACANCY: SERVICE TECHNICIAN (WINDOWS & DOORS)
HR CONSULTING SOLUTIONS HAS BEEN RETAINED BY WINDOW WORLD OF PADUCAH TO RECRUIT A FULL-TIME WINDOW AND DOOR SERVICE TECHNICIAN. THIS POSITION FOCUSES ON DIAGNOSING AND REPAIRING REPLACEMENT WINDOWS AND DOORS, ACCURATELY MEASURING PRODUCTS FOR REPLACEMENT ORDERS, AND DELIVERING EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE.
POSITION SUMMARY
This field-based role is ideal for an experienced window and door professional who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and interacting with homeowners. The technician will complete several service calls and/or measurement appointments each day, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, accurately measuring replacement windows and doors, documenting work, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience. This is a full-time W-2 position offering long-term stability, competitive benefits, and opportunities for additional commission earnings. Most days consist of four to six scheduled service or measurement appointments, allowing technicians to work independently while representing one of the nation's leading home improvement brands. The typical schedule for this role is Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with occasional weekend work as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review daily schedule and prepare company service van with required parts and materials.
- Travel throughout Window World of Paducah's service area, covering communities within approximately a 1.5-hour radius of the Paducah office.
- Diagnose and repair window and door issues including sashes, glass packs, locks, weatherstripping, screens, hardware, balances, and related components.
- Accurately measure replacement windows and entry doors for future installation orders.
- Complete several customer appointments per day while working independently in the field.
- Provide professional, courteous customer service and explain repair options to homeowners.
- Document completed work and customer approvals using the company's CRM system.
- Maintain an organized service van and report vehicle maintenance needs.
- Assist in the warehouse or other operational areas during slower service periods.
- Refer installation work requiring major replacement to the installation team.
- Identify sales opportunities and recommend additional products when appropriate. Additional commission opportunities are available for qualified sales referrals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience installing, servicing, or repairing replacement windows and doors.
- Ability to accurately measure replacement windows and entry doors.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and solve problems independently in the field.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn CRM software.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus but not required.
- Construction, siding, or roofing repair experience is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work on ladders as needed for measurements and minor repairs.
- Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely use hand tools and service equipment.

- The anticipated starting pay for this position is approximately $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on the candidate’s skills and experience. Candidates with relevant window and door experience will generally fall within the $25.00–$27.00 per hour range, while candidates with more advanced technical skills—such as independently diagnosing and repairing leaks, sashes, and other window and door service issues—may qualify for starting pay closer to $30.00 per hour.
