The General Manager (GM) will work with The Boston Garden leadership to coordinate and facilitate day-to-day operations while contributing to overall growth for the store and company. The GM is responsible for hiring, training, and managing a best-in-class team,tracking and measuring KPIs, ensuring customer satisfaction, implementing SOPs, and staying informed on all regulations; local, state, and federal. The GM will be in charge of ensuring their location maintains compliance on all fronts and will be the face of the store when it comes to interacting with law enforcement, landlords, vendors, and employees.
Qualified GM applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or retail management experience. Cannabis retail management experience is encouraged but not required. Above all else, we are looking for a proven leader. Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide visible, hands-on leadership by setting the standard for customer service, team engagement, and operational excellence, ensuring an exceptional experience for both customers and employees.
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team through effective recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and ongoing professional development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement by establishing clear expectations, monitoring results, recognizing achievements, and inspiring team members around a shared vision.
- Ensure fair, consistent, and compliant management practices by upholding company policies, employment laws, and organizational values while promoting a positive and inclusive workplace.
- Demonstrate a commitment to personal leadership growth by maintaining high professional standards, seeking feedback, and continuously developing management capabilities.
- Maintain full operational oversight of the dispensary, including daily store operations, facility maintenance, emergency response, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Drive compliance and risk management by ensuring strict adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and asset protection standards.
- Oversee all financial operations, including cash management, bookkeeping, banking activities, payroll records, invoices, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and fiscal integrity.
- Analyze business performance and key financial metrics to identify opportunities, develop action plans, and execute strategies that improve profitability and operational effectiveness.
- Lead inventory and merchandising functions, including vendor partnerships, purchasing, product intake, pricing, stock control, and inventory optimization to support sales and customer demand.
- Develop and execute local marketing initiatives, community outreach efforts, and social media engagement strategies to strengthen brand presence, increase customer loyalty, and drive revenue growth.

Qualifications / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or 3-5 years retail management experience. 1-3 years in the cannabis industry preferred.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn MA adult-use cannabis laws and regulatory compliance is required.
- Ability to motivate team members, solve problems quickly and effectively, and take intentional steps toward accomplishing goals.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines, as well as strong conflict management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to positively influence people; must be capable of effectively interacting at all levels in the organization.
- Excellent communication skills and leadership both verbally and written
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Must possess valid driver’s license or state ID
- Must pass any and all required background checks- Must be able to be approved for a current state cannabis worker license or permit.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
