Reporting to the Royalty Manager, the Royalty Analyst supports the preparation and processing of royalty calculations, payments, and reporting for authors, illustrators, agents, and other stakeholders. This role involves maintaining royalty data, assisting with statement preparation, and ensuring accurate and timely royalty operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn about royalty processes within the publishing industry.
What you’d be doing:

Assist in accurately calculating royalties based on contractual agreements.

Help process royalty payments in a timely manner.

Support compliance with royalty terms and conditions specified in contracts.

Prepare and distribute draft royalty statements for review.

Maintain organized records of royalty payments and calculations.

Help generate royalty reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Assist in interpreting royalty terms within publishing contracts.

Enter and verify royalty terms and updates in royalty management systems.

Utilize royalty management software to track sales and royalty data.

Work closely with IT, Finance, and Royalties teams to maintain data integrity.

Respond to basic royalty-related inquiries from internal teams.

Assist with addressing discrepancies or issues in royalty statements and payments.

Support internal and external audits related to royalties.

Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legal requirements.
We’re looking for someone who has:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Publishing, or related field.

1-3 years of relevant experience in royalties, accounting, or publishing operations (internship or academic experience may be considered).

Basic understanding of publishing contracts and royalty agreements (training will be provided).

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Good organizational and time management abilities.

Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively and learn in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with royalty software or financial systems a plus.
This position is in New York, NY, and follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence three days per week.
Base salary range for this position is ($60,000 - $65,000) per year. The final offer will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
