Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience at the rink.
- Monitor ice conditions and assist with skate rentals, ensuring equipment is well-maintained and properly sanitized.
- Enforce safety rules and protocols on the ice and around the venue to prevent accidents and manage conflicts effectively.
- Assist with event setup, management, and breakdown for skating sessions, parties, or special events held at the rink.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems for admissions, rentals, concessions, and merchandise sales.
- Maintain cleanliness of the rink area, including ice surface, locker rooms, and public spaces, bathrooms, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Support emergency procedures by providing first aid or CPR when needed and communicating with emergency responders if necessary.
- Engage with guests of all ages, including children, ensuring their safety while promoting fun-filled activities.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and energetic attitude.
- Experience managing events or working in an event venue setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to handle conflict calmly and professionally while maintaining a positive environment.
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR certification preferred; ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
- Experience working with children or in hospitality roles enhances guest engagement.
- Competence in retail sales, cash handling, processing transactions through POS systems.
- Physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting (skates, equipment) and cold work conditions.
- Basic math skills for managing cash registers accurately.
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to ice rink operations.
- Excellent communication skills for public speaking or guest interactions during events or safety briefings.
- Previous experience in food service or resort environments is advantageous but not required.
