Guardian Angel Homes is seeking a Housekeeping Director who takes pride in creating a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment for our residents. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department while actively working alongside the housekeeping team each day.

Position Summary
The Housekeeping Director is responsible for the cleanliness, appearance, and overall housekeeping operations of our assisted living community. This role provides day-to-day leadership to housekeeping staff while actively participating in cleaning resident apartments, common areas, and other community spaces.
This is not a supervisory-only position. The Housekeeping Director is expected to work alongside the team and assist with daily housekeeping duties as needed to ensure exceptional cleanliness and resident satisfaction.
What You'll Do: Leadership & Department Oversight
- Lead, coach, and support housekeeping staff.
- Schedule and coordinate daily housekeeping assignments.
- Monitor cleaning standards and ensure quality throughout the community.
- Train new team members on cleaning procedures and safety practices.
- Maintain inventory and assist with ordering cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Partner with other departments to support resident needs and community operations.
Hands-On Housekeeping Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning of resident apartments, common areas, offices, community spaces, kitchens, and restrooms.
- Clean windows and other interior surfaces as needed.
- Vacuum, mop, dust, sanitize, and maintain all community areas.
- Perform carpet and upholstery spot cleaning.
- Assist with laundry operations when needed.
- Help prepare vacant apartments for tours and new move-ins.
- Ensure all occupied apartments are clean, safe, and free from environmental hazards.
- Assist with maintaining clean building entrances, walkways, and exterior areas.
- Support seasonal weather-related cleanup and safety efforts.
- Assist with routine refrigerator defrosting and other housekeeping-related tasks.
What We're Looking For
- Previous housekeeping experience required.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to lead by example and work as part of the team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical housekeeping duties on a daily basis.
Requirements
- Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with state requirements.
- Must obtain and maintain required certifications, including First Aid/CPR and Food Handler's Permit, if applicable.
- Must be able to work in an environment that may include exposure to cleaning chemicals, infectious diseases, and other conditions commonly found in healthcare settings.
