Portner & Shure is a busy immigration, personal injury, and criminal defense firm. We are searching for an experienced immigration attorney. The candidate must be familiar with family petitions, asylum cases, SIJS, U-Visas, waivers (including I-601A, I-601, I-212), H1B visas, cancellation of removal, Deportation, TN Visas, H1B employment petitions, eligibility under § 241(i), and employment petitions.
Immigration Attorney Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate case and legal strategies.
- Manage various projects and deadlines.
- Negotiate, prepare, and revise documents.
- Explain legal language to clients.
- Research unique legal issues by identifying applicable statutes and judicial decisions.
- Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect immigration.
- Develop solutions to complex legal questions.
- Prepare motions, court filings and immigration related forms and be able to prepare clients for asylum interviews and court hearings
- Attend master calendar hearings, bond hearings, and individual/merits hearings.
Immigration Attorney Requirements:
- JD Degree
- Active MD or VA Bar License (in good standing)
- Have excellent writing skills
- Spanish a plus
Compensation and Benefits:
The total compensation for this immigration attorney position ranges from $70,000 - $90,000. Portner & Shure provides an excellent benefits package. Our comprehensive plan includes: health and voluntary dental insurance, optional 401K, PTO and paid holidays.
