Part-Time Dog Groomer – Barney’s Ranch
Barney’s Ranch is looking for a reliable part-time dog groomer to join our team. Our current groomer is relocating to San Antonio to be closer to her family, so we are looking for an experienced groomer to step into an established grooming position with existing clients.
Barney’s Ranch is a busy dog boarding, daycare, and grooming facility with a strong focus on safe, caring, and professional pet care.
Position
Part-Time Dog Groomer
Schedule
This is a part-time position, approximately 3 days per week. Exact days and hours can be discussed based on experience, availability, and business needs.
Responsibilities
The groomer will be responsible for providing professional grooming services for dogs in our care, including:
- Bathing, brushing, drying, and full grooming services
- Haircuts based on breed, coat condition, and owner requests
- Nail trims, ear cleaning, sanitary trims, and basic coat maintenance
- Communicating clearly with staff about each dog’s grooming needs
- Handling dogs safely, calmly, and professionally
- Keeping the grooming area clean, organized, and sanitary
- Notifying management of any health, skin, coat, or behavior concerns noticed during grooming
- Working with the front desk and kennel staff to ensure dogs are checked in, groomed, and ready for pickup on time
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional dog grooming experience
- Strong scissoring and breed-standard haircut skills
- Ability to safely handle dogs of different sizes, ages, temperaments, and coat types
- Good communication skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- A calm and patient attitude with dogs
- Ability to work independently and stay organized
- Pride in producing clean, professional grooming results
Compensation
Compensation is based on a 60/40 commission split.
