American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 5 years of experience and Trauma Level II certification.

Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital environment
-
Trauma Level II facility
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM)
-
Required to work every other weekend
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Active CA RN license required
-
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA or ARC accepted)

Minimum 5 years of ER nursing experience required
-
Trauma Level II experience required
-
Previous travel nursing experience required
-
Epic charting system experience required
-
Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
-
Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
-
Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management
-
Skilled in administration of emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and continuous IV sedation
-
Skilled in procedural sedation administration/monitoring
-
Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response

Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
-
Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required
-
Nursys license verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks required

Provide emergency nursing care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of critically ill patients
-
Holiday coverage required for one of the following: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request approved per contract

Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing

7-year work history verification required for all candidates

Local candidates accepted at local rate

Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate

Returning employees must have a separation period of at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
