Summary
We are seeking passionate Program Instructors to join our team at BASE Programs in facilitating expanded learning programming on elementary school campuses throughout Oceanside and Camp Pendleton. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering engaging educational programs to our students aged TK - 5th Grade, or TK - 8th in certain locations. Morning and Afternoon shifts are available and the ability to access Camp Pendleton is a plus, though not required for all locations. This position is essential in helping us continue our mission of supporting youth development in collaboration with the Oceanside Unified School District (OUSD) at 14 school sites, and Fallbrook Unified Elementary School District (FUESD) at 2 school sites on Camp Pendleton.
Responsibilities
- Using provided curriculum, instructors will lead elementary aged students (and Middle School students in certain locations) in engaging content including Art Enrichment, Academics, Athletics, STEM, TK/Kinder and more in a 20:1 student:Teacher ratio (10:1 for TK/K).
- Facilitate clubs and activities that promote personal growth and healthy living.
- Actively supervise students at meal breaks and playground activities.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support their development.
- Keep accurate attendance records and understand grant management software to support and ensure attendance data.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all participants.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- For morning programs, instructors must be available between 6am - 9am.
- For afternoon programs, instructors must be available between 2pm - 6pm (M, T, Th, F) and 12pm - 6pm on Wednesdays (minimum days).
- TK/Kinder Instructors - Early childhood credits and experience preferred.
- Applicants must be able to pass a basic skills test for Instructional Aide.
- Relevant experience in education or youth development required.
- Camp counselor, coaching, youth leadership, or teaching experience highly recommended
- Strong communication and behavior management skills is a must.
- Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups in the community.
- Passion for empowering youth and promoting healthy lifestyles.
- Access to Camp Pendleton is a plus.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
