We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) specializing in hospice care to join our dedicated healthcare team. Duties
- Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily clinical operations within the hospice setting, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Supervise nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct care providers, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and ongoing training.
- Develop, review, and update individualized care plans for residents, ensuring alignment with medical directives, resident preferences, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee documentation review processes to maintain accuracy in medical records, medication administration records (MARs), and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary team meetings to facilitate effective communication regarding resident needs, progress notes, and care adjustments.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations related to hospice care, long-term care facilities, Medicare requirements, and long-term care regulations.
- Manage shift scheduling to optimize staffing levels while maintaining compliance with labor laws and shift management best practices.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems efficiently for documentation, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor quality assurance initiatives by reviewing documentation accuracy, incident reports, and compliance audits to uphold regulatory standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices in nursing management, memory care protocols, and patient-centered care approaches.
Experience
- Proven nursing leadership experience within hospice or palliative care environments with demonstrated success in managing clinical teams.
- Extensive assisted living experience combined with nursing home experience that includes managing complex resident needs across diverse settings such as home health or acute care environments.
- Strong background in home health agency operations, home care services, or long-term care facilities with familiarity in managing care teams across multiple shifts.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and memory care principles essential for delivering specialized resident support.
- Experience with regulatory compliance related to Medicare certification processes and long-term care regulations is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review, medical records management, and clinical supervision.
- Supervising experience involving nurse management responsibilities such as staffing oversight, performance reviews, and leadership development.
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards coupled with a commitment to safeguarding resident information at all times.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively while fostering a collaborative environment focused on delivering compassionate patient care.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
