Duties
- Monitor premises continuously using CCTV systems and perform regular patrols to identify potential security risks or breaches
- Control access points by verifying identities and authorizing entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors
- Conduct thorough background checks on new personnel as part of the onboarding process
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies following established protocols
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or suspicious activities
- Perform first aid and CPR when necessary to assist injured individuals and coordinate emergency response procedures
- Operate security equipment such as Taser devices, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), firearms (where permitted), and fire extinguishers in accordance with safety regulations
- Manage conflict de-escalation techniques to resolve disputes peacefully and maintain order on-site
Skills
- Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV and access control systems
- Background in military or law enforcement enhances situational awareness and emergency response capabilities
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff, visitors, and vendors
- Knowledge of physical security measures including patrolling, heavy lifting, manual handling, and incident report writing
- Ability to perform background checks accurately and efficiently for new hires or visitors
- Proficiency in emergency response procedures such as fire safety protocols, AED operation, CPR, and first aid certification
- Conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations calmly and effectively
- Familiarity with compliance standards related to security regulations and legal requirements
