Madden Industrial Craftsmen is hiring an HVAC Sheet Metal Detailer for our client in Portland, OR. This is an office-based CAD detailing role where you'll take 3D scan and point cloud data from existing shipboard ductwork and turn it into replacement ductwork designs — from initial routing all the way through manufacturing-ready documentation. If you've got a background in AutoCAD MEP and CAMduct and are looking for detailing work that's a step beyond standard commercial HVAC — with material takeoffs, procurement support, and some field verification mixed in — this is a strong fit.
Pay: $35.65/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
What You'll Do
- Reverse-engineer existing shipboard ductwork using 3D scan/point cloud data
- Develop replacement ductwork designs from initial routing through manufacturing
- Perform material take-offs: calculate quantities from customer drawings, generate rough nests, and compile data for procurement
- Participate in occasional shipboard or field walkthroughs to verify scope or fill in missing information
- Support Piping and Structural teams as workload requires, including reverse-engineering piping/structural components from scan data
