Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cashier/Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently processing transactions. You will play a vital role in enhancing the shopping experience by assisting customers with their purchases, answering questions, and promoting additional products through upselling techniques. A strong understanding of retail math and basic math skills is essential, as well as proficiency in using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout their shopping experience.
- Accurately process customer transactions using the POS system, including cash handling and credit card processing.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and provide recommendations to enhance their shopping experience.
- Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and increase sales.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed.
- Handle returns and exchanges according to store policies while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain store standards.
- Adhere to all company policies regarding phone etiquette and customer interactions.
Experience
- Previous experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Familiarity with retail math concepts is a plus.
- Experience with POS systems is advantageous for efficient transaction processing.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor towards customers.
