Job Title: Nurse Aide
Location: Simpson General Hospital – Mendenhall, MS
Status: PRN (As Needed)
Reports To: RN Supervisor / Director of Nursing
Unit: Cross Trained for Med-Surg and Geri-Psych
Position Summary:
The Nurse Aide assists patients with daily living activities and provides support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role plays a vital part in delivering direct patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring the dignity and comfort of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist patients with bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, ambulating, and feeding

Support patient admissions/discharges, including belongings inventory and audits

Monitor and report vital signs, intake/output, and patient conditions
-
Provide one-on-one patient interaction and support therapeutic activities
-
Assist with mealtime preparation, tray delivery/pickup, and feeding if needed
-
Maintain clean and safe patient environments (make beds, empty bedpans, etc.)

Turn, reposition, and provide toileting needs for bedbound patients
-
Support patient transportation to tests, therapy, and physician visits
-
Observe/report pressure areas or changes in physical/emotional status
-
Maintain accurate documentation and attend required training sessions

Comply with infection control procedures and use PPE as directed

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required); Associate degree (Preferred)

Experience: 1 year of Med/Surg care experience strongly preferred
