100% Remote Position
Elite Digital Forensics is a growing digital forensic firm, handling hundreds of new cases each year. We provide cutting-edge digital forensic services to regular individuals, businesses, and law firms across the Country. To meet our growing demand, we are seeking an experienced Digital Forensic Investigator to add to our Subcontractor pool to assist with overflow cases on an as-needed basis. Please note, this is not a W2 position and is a 10-99 Subcontractor. The pay can be a set hourly rate or a negotiated flat fee rate per case assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze digital media, including computers, cell phones, takeout packages, IoT devices, and cloud storage, to support various investigations.
- Conduct intrusion investigations involving the analysis of takeout packages, cloud environments, computers, cell phones.
- Utilize a variety of digital forensic tools and techniques to extract, preserve, and analyze digital evidence.
- Prepare detailed and coherent forensic reports summarizing findings and methodologies used in investigations.
- Collaborate with clients, attorneys and other stakeholders as required, providing expert insights and testimony when necessary.
- Provide expert testimony and opinions as needed.
Minimum Must Haves:
- 2 years experience conducting digital forensic examinations.
- 2 years experience analyzing takeout/search warrant return packages (Google, iCloud, Facebook etc. etc).
- 2 years of experience analyzing cell phone data.
- 2 years of experience analyzing computer data.
Experience & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in digital forensic investigations.
- Proven experience as a Digital Forensics Examiner, with a strong portfolio of successfully resolved forensic investigations.
- Proficiency in using various digital forensic tools such as Cellebrite, Axiom, Oxygen or similar.
- Relevant certifications in digital forensics such as Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE), GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE), or equivalent.
- Familiarity with forensic analysis of different operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and mobile platforms (iOS, Android).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare comprehensive forensic reports.
- A commitment to ethical investigation practices, with a thorough understanding of the legal implications of digital forensic work.
- Willingness to work criminal defense cases when needed.
- Willingness to sign a standard non-compete and NDA.
