Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment, and ensuring safe and accurate movement of goods throughout the warehouse. Your expertise will help maintain smooth warehouse operations, support inventory management, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced distribution environment. Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts including reach trucks, lift trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanning for logistics to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking using manual handling techniques and order picker equipment to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Manage inventory by conducting regular stock counts, updating warehouse management systems (WMS), and ensuring proper storage of goods.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming shipments against documentation and preparing outgoing orders for dispatch.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections, perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues on forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Follow all forklift safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and safety standards in production to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials on pallets, stacking safely, and maintaining a clean work area aligned with safety standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize warehouse operations, improve workflow efficiency, and implement best practices in materials handling.
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, Hi-Lo’s, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, or similar material handling equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology, and inventory control procedures.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes along with familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs or troubleshooting on forklifts and other heavy equipment.
- Experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles is a plus but not required; candidates should have solid warehouse experience demonstrating reliability in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling guidelines and safety standards.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and order accuracy verification.
