GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This is skilled work in the use of specialized maintenance and construction equipment and vehicles utilized in the water and wastewater activities of the Sevierville Water Systems. The work involves responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of specialized electrical test equipment, maintaining all Sewer lift stations, water booster stations, water tank sites, grease traps, adjusting pressure backflow prevention devices, service trucks with cranes, vacuum trucks, pressure washer equipment both portable and truck-mounted, and portable ventilation equipment. Employees in this position will be required to be on call throughout the year and live within a maximum 30-minute commute. Supervision is received from the Pump Station Supervisor or Pump Technician II.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or a GED certificate supplemented with some technical training in electrical and plumbing work and the test equipment used for work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Requires a valid Tennessee commercial driver’s license with tanker endorsement within one year. Requires completion of special training, demonstration of competency in testing backflow prevention devices within the first eighteen (18) months of employment and acquiring certification from the Tennessee Department of Health and Environment. Requires Back Flow Prevention License.
Requires over six months and up to and including one year.
