AMARO BALDWIN LLP is a civil defense firm located in down town Long Beach, that specializes in General Liability, Personal Injury, Products Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Employment Defense, and Transportation Matters.
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Associate Attorney to join our General Liability team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of managing complex insurance defense, civil litigation cases across a diverse range of practice areas in corporate general liability. Your expertise will drive case strategy, facilitate negotiations, and ensure thorough legal research and drafting to support favorable outcomes. Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of general liability cases from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, motions, negotiations, and trial preparation.
- Conduct detailed legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to inform case strategy and stay current on relevant laws and regulations.
- Draft precise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and client correspondence with clarity and professionalism.
- Advise clients on legal rights and options.
- Negotiate settlements effectively while maintaining client interests and fostering positive relationships with opposing counsel.
- Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases involving general liability to develop innovative solutions.
- Maintain meticulous case records and ensure compliance with all procedural rules and deadlines.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- At least 2 years experience in insurance defense with a strong understanding of litigation procedures and strategies.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; excellent research skills are essential.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, persuasive legal drafting tailored to various audiences.
- Familiarity with multiple practice areas including; workers' compensation law, personal injury law, general liability, employment law, and products liability is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills coupled with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Legal administrative experience that supports efficient case management and documentation practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
